For optimal locking use of these serrated lock washers is recommended on even surfaces and when the support surface is bigger than the external diameter of the serrated lock washer.

DIN 6798 type J
For optimal locking use of these serrated lock washers is recommended on uneven surfaces.

DIN 6798 type V
Use of these serrated lock washers is recommended only for locking of pan head screws.
